A young inventor has created a motorbike with a twist ? it uses two wheels but they are positioned right next to each other, giving it the illusion of being a powered unicycle. And even better, it might help save the planet.

Ben Gulak has spent several years building the electric Uno that uses gyroscopic technology - like the infamous Segway commuter device - to stay upright.

The bizarre-looking contraption has only one switch - on or off - and is controlled entirely by body movement.

The rider leans forwards to accelerate to speeds of 25mph and back to slow down. It has two wheels side-by-side and has been turning heads wherever it has been ridden.

Its 18-year-old creator is now looking for investors to get the Uno into production and onto the streets.

Just in time for Father’s Day, artisanal British spirits company Compass Box has released a new limited edition bottling of its rare old “Hedonism” Scotch grain whisky. Compass Box calls Scotch grain whisky the “forgotten” spirit. Its origins go back to the early 1800s, but these days it’s not made to be drunk on its own. Made from wheat or corn and distilled in a continuous still, it’s not aged like malt, but rather used to as a base for the marquee brands of blended Scotch - filler, in other words.

The Scotch grain whisky that goes into Hedonism is on average 20 years old, and a bottle costs about $100.

At $1,440 they aren’t exactly a great investment, but they’re definitly worth taking a second look at. Net-A-Porter.com

HONG KONG (AP) — The largest diamond ever auctioned off in Asia — a sparkling, 101.27 carat gem about the size of a pingpong ball — fetched more than $6.2 million at Christie’s in Hong Kong.

The stone sold Wednesday to a private buyer for $6.21 million, the auction house said.

Cut from a 460-carat rough, the shield-shaped gem boasts 92 brilliant facets and certified F color. While internally flawless, the stone was rated VVS1 for clarity because of a slight imperfection on the surface that’s imperceptible to the human eye.

It is the largest colorless diamond to appear on the auction market in the last 18 years, Christie’s said. Only three colorless diamonds of more than 100 carats have appeared at auction. All were sold in Geneva.

Naming rights were granted to the new owner.

Designed by German outfit Montegiro, the Lusso is marketed more like a European sports car than a piece of DJ equipment, according to Crunch Gear. This beautiful piece is built upon alternate layers of aluminum and black acrylic, including the topsy-turvy cone for the aluminum platter fitted with an acrylic platter and driven by a newly-developed, precise, high-end synchronous motor suspended within one of the cones. The connected cones have height-adjustable feet for set-up.The tonearm is carbon. All this works together to bring you — are you ready? — “a perfect world of sound: Between precise, crystalline highs and weighty bass is a generous, softly melting midrange that helps produce an ideal, musically balanced turntable.”

The base version has three cones, a 10” carbon arm from Da Vinci (model Nobile), the MG1 from the Montegiro family and a state-of-the-art pickup-system in titanium. The top-of-the-line model comes with four cones and two tonearms and includes a 9” SME, model 5009 tonearm.

This musical piece of art will set you back €30,000, or about $47,000.
